To reach the square of Capri from the port there are 3 ways the funicular, the taxi, and the bus. The funicular is a public transport linking Marina Grande to the center of the island. Taxis can be found on the dock of the port and they reach most areas of the island where they are allowed to pass, they work from April to October and are available 24 hours a day.
Buses are much more limited, they work from 7.00 AM in the morning to 6.00 PM and are limited to leaving passengers near the squares of Capri and Anacapri.

Getting to Capri from Rome the journey could be very long and stressful. From Rome Fiumicino, you have to catch a train from the airport to the central station of Rome and then to catch another train that arrives in Naples from Rome, finally rent a taxi or a private car that carries to you at the port to take the ferry to Capri.
